A dark ruby color is accompanied by crisp acids, sweet cranberry, black cherry, and darker fruit aromas, and a clean, pure, classically built, medium weight Pauillac. Still firm and tannic, this medium-bodied, elegantly wrought wine.
The 2006 Sigalas Rabaud has a curious bouquet with peach skin and lanolin aromas, perhaps just a touch of volatile acidity here giving it lift. The palate is medium-bodied with fine balance
Deep ruby/purple, with a sweet nose of creme de cassis intermixed with licorice, dried herbs, and vanilla, the wine is rich in fruit, has good glycerin, silky tannin, and a nice, spicy, layered finish.
The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Romanee is generous on the nose with scents of creme brulee and hazelnut that are very intense. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with crisp acidity, a touch of sour lemon and a lovely fresh, tense finish.
There is pleasant purity, and certainly, it is less herbaceous than many of its peers, with peppermint-tinged red cherry and cranberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a mixture of red and black fruit, quite caressing in texture, with a well balanced if not overly complex finish.
An intriguing blend of 48% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, this inky purple-colored wine is ripe, progressively styled, big, rich, thick and juicy.
The 2012 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Folatières from Louis Jadot has a vibrant and energetic bouquet with just a touch of reduction, though it blows off to reveal a compelling bouquet with lovely mineral, granitic scents. The palate is crisp and fresh, well balanced with impressive power and intensity without compromising the tension and race.
